Deen Tight is a supreme effort to bring out the story of Muslim Hip Hop artists in the US of A fighting against the propaganda of hate from the mass media and entertainment industry, portraying Islam as violent and evil. They not only have to fight a David and Goliath battle against the mass media and the entertainment industry but have to confront the conservative forces from within the Muslim community that would shun the use of music.

Review: Deen Tight, A Muslim Documentary Film
Dans La Vie
Esther is a cranky, paralysed Jewish elderly who requires constant nursing, while Selima is her young Muslim nurse. When Esther’s ill treatments lead her housekeeper to quit, Selima brings her mother, Halima, to replace her. Against all odds, the senior Muslim lady and her Jewish employer hit it off so well that Halima agrees to look after Esther full-time. This experience tests their mutual prejudices, before their relationship transforms into an unlikely friendship.
The Infidel
A British cabby named Mahmud Nasir is a second-generation Pakistani and something of a ‘relaxed’ Muslim. Meaning, ‘the F word’ does occasionally pass his lips, although he prays five times a day and fasts everyday of the Ramadhan… usually. Who’s counting anyway? Religious obligations aside, Mahmud is a loving husband and a doting father of two children.

Up till 1975, rock ‘n’ roll was a man’s world. And then a group of underaged girls from Southern California came along and dropped the bomb – Cherry Bomb, that is – which hit the music’s industry right smack on the nose, because they showed ‘em that chicks rock.
